MGMT 325: Contemporary Organizations and Managment
The fundamentals of the managerial process (planning, organizing, leading, and controlling) are
considered in the context of 21st century organizations. Topics are split between
macro and micro perspectives.
MGMT 325 was a blend of group work, test, in class activities, videos, and tests in order to dig deeper on the topics discussed in class. The overall goal of this course was to help students better learn about management functions within an organization, as well as the individual roles as well. This course helped me greater expand on my knowledge about what makes a business run smoothly as well as learning how to deal with certain situations as if you are the manager. For example, one in class assignment we had to complete was that we were given scenarios that dealt with ethical situations, and we had to play as if we were the managers. These ICA's really helped me grasp the concepts we were talking about in our lectures and help to understand beyond it and use it in real life situations. I can use what Iearned in MGMT 325 in order to assist me if I get a job in a managerial role because of the in-class discussions and group work that put in me the shoes of the manager well before I ever was one.
