MKTG 368: Marketing Internship with ODU Athletic Marketing
The purpose of this internship was to gain real world marketing experience through an internship. The requirements for completing this internship were you had to work 150 hours over the semester and complete a 15-page paper about your experience and what you gained from it.
The only assignment I had to complete for this pass/fail class was a 15-page report reflecting on my marketing internship with ODU Athletic Marketing. This paper allowed me to fully digest and look back on my time with the department, which was a total of 3 semesters, one being for credit. I got to take a deeper look at the marketing functions in the marketing department as a whole as well as break down my own experience. One of the main points that was key for me to write about in my paper was how I was able to connect what I have learned during my marketing classes to what I was doing actively in my internship. Both of my internships have been sports marketing related, so if I choose to continue down that path, this internship has taught me so much about the in's and outs of college sports and I learned so much about the behind-the-scenes aspects, from script writing to cutting music and videos.
